EVLT
EVLT – laser treatment of varicose veins
EVLT (Endovenous Laser Treatment) is a modern method of treating varicose veins of the lower limbs, based on the intravascular use of a laser. The procedure involves closing the inefficient vein using laser light energy, which leads to its gradual disappearance and elimination of symptoms of venous disease.
It is a minimally invasive alternative to classic surgery, which does not require hospitalization or long convalescence. The patient can return to daily activities even on the same day.
Indications for EVLT procedure
Laser vein treatment is recommended for people with symptoms of venous insufficiency, such as:
- visible, enlarged varicose veins on the legs,
- a feeling of heaviness and fatigue in the legs,
- pain, burning and swelling at the end of the day,
- nocturnal calf cramps,
- skin discoloration around the ankles,
- venous ulcers.
