Prof. Marek Jasiński is the Head of the Cardiac Surgery Clinic at the University Clinical Hospital (USK) in Wrocław and a Consultant at the Children’s Health Center (Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka) in Warsaw. He also serves as an Honorary Consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital in the United Kingdom.
Education and Qualifications:
- Second-degree specialization in cardiac surgery
- Medical Doctorate (PhD) (1995) – Medical University of Silesia, Katowice
- Habilitation (2004) – Medical University of Silesia, Katowice
- Title of Professor of Medical Sciences (2012) awarded by the President of Poland
Professional Experience and Achievements:
Prof. Jasiński gained experience during prestigious scholarships and fellowships, including at:
- The European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Brussels
- Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA
- Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City (Stanford University), USA
- Saint Luck Hospital, Brussels
In 2014, he was the first in Poland to perform with his team a heart implant surgery using a silicone BACE implant without cutting the heart muscle. In 2017, he conducted a pioneering surgery implanting an artificial ring in the aortic valve.
