Phimosis

Phimosis – effective surgical treatment

Indications for phimosis removal surgery

1. Consultation and qualification

The doctor conducts an interview, a urological examination, and determines the indications for the procedure.

2. Preparation for the procedure

The patient receives local anesthesia (or general anesthesia – for children or on request). The surgical site and its surroundings are disinfected and prepared for surgical intervention.

3. The actual part of the procedure

The urologist incises the foreskin and removes the narrowed fragment.

4. Wound care

Thin absorbable sutures are placed. The surgical site is secured with a dressing.

5. Post-treatment follow-up

The patient remains under observation for a short while, after which he or she can return home the same day with recommendations for care and hygiene.

6. Control and healing

A check-up visit takes place after a few days. Full healing takes 2-3 weeks, the stitches fall out on their own after 4-6 weeks, and sexual intercourse can be resumed after about 6 weeks.
