Prostate biopsy

Prostate Biopsy – Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Indications for prostate biopsy

1. Magnetic resonance imaging

The patient undergoes an MRI of the prostate to obtain detailed images of the structure of the prostate gland.

2. Locating potential cancer areas

Magnetic resonance imaging is used to identify potential cancerous areas within the prostate.

3. Fusion biopsy images

The MRI data is "fused" with the actual images obtained during the biopsy, allowing precise determination of the tumor location.

4. Targeted sampling

During a biopsy, the doctor directs the needle to specific areas previously located on the MRI, aiming for suspicious lesions.

5. Minimizing the risk of errors

With fusion technology, the risk of diagnostic errors is minimized, which translates into more accurate identification of prostate cancer.

6. Treatment planning

Once the biopsy results are available, your doctor can effectively plan appropriate treatment depending on the stage of your prostate cancer.
